Diana Mini | First Shots

My weekends are rarely quiet. I find myself all over Atlanta doing one thing or another, and yesterday was no exception to the rule. Among the things on my long to-do list was to finally get some film developed that I had used with my Diana Mini last fall / winter. (Yeah, I know it's taken me forever to share them.) On the first two images, I am just testing the color quality, while with the last two you'll see that I was experimenting with double exposure for the first time. I've acquired a film SLR since purchasing the Mini so I have been shooting with that in my free time, and those images are much better. However, I wasn't afraid of sharing my faulty first images. They are every much a part of my growth as my successes.  It is all a learning process, and every great photographer (if they are honest) will tell you that they don't take a "perfect picture" every time.

I don't feel like film photography is dead in the digital age, but I do think that it has become sort of an acquired taste. One of my personal goals is to eventually shoot both digital and 35 mm film.
